Ever feel like just getting out of town?  Sipping my coffee this morning, I sat thinking about where I might go on two wheels that is far enough away from the city, yet something I could do over the weekend.  Those of you who are faithful followers of my blog know that I love ghost towns.  So, what better place to go than Bodie, CA?

This is a last minute idea but so far I’ve planned to leave Friday and head just south of Bridgeport, CA to stay at a little motel about 6 miles from the historic ghost town of Bodie.

After Bodie I’ll be riding south to check out the beautiful Mono Lake and Devil’s Postpile National Monument, then heading back north to stay at the Topaz Lodge, near Topaz Lake.  It should be a fun little weekend jaunt, perfect for some self reflection and hopefully some good writing.  Stay tuned this weekend for more moto tales from the West.
