I’m Baaaack!

Whew.  It’s been a minute since I’ve thought about blogging moto adventures.  I’ve been riding some, but not posting.  There’s Instagram, Facebook, TikTok and so many others and I thought, blogs may be a thing of the past.  But then I thought, so what?  For me, blogging is a way to journal a story with photos, and if I’m lucky, a few people might even enjoy it.  So here we go.

Let me give a fast update.  Sadly, the Bonnie (Triumph Bonneville T-100) has retired.  She took me to so many places and a ton of adventures but she wasn’t running well any longer and I couldn’t rely on her when I was out in the middle of nowhere.

I am a Triumph girl at heart, and I have my sights set on the Triumph Speed Twin 900.  But until I can make that purchase, my best buddy, Dick has loaned me his BMW F650 GS and it’s a dream to ride.  It’s also great for longer travels so you’ll see Big Blue on my road travels, and my Yamaha XT 250 dirt bike, aptly named “Shasta” when I’m out getting dirty.

The past two summers were not great.  My furry companion, Pickles passed away and the summer after that we got COVID and had a few other health issues.  When I could, I’d make my escape–mostly on dirt roads around Mt. Shasta and a bit beyond.

Adventuring on a forest road near Lake Siskiyou.

I’ll stop here for now, mostly I just wanted to let you know what’s been happening and what’s coming.

I am going to post this week and next week about a few rides I was able to manage last summer just to catch you up.  Then, starting this Spring it will be all new rides and adventures.  Places on my list to feature:

  • Crater Lake Campout
  • In Search of Big Foot on HWY 96
  • Going Coastal
  • Glass Mountain and other Volcanic Wonders
  • Places of UFO sightings
  • And more…..stay tuned!

I hope you’ll follow along, I am so excited to be back and look forward to sharing more adventures from Northern CA and beyond.
